Glass Paperweight - Is there a name for this shape?

Hello Board Buddies - Is there a special name for this type of paperweight? It looks like a combination paperweight and trinket dish. There's a ball set into a kind of bowl. Measurements are about 5 1/2" across and about 2 1/2" tall. It has a polished ground bottom. Any information regarding this item would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I suspect that's a decent quality newer one made in China. There's some really nice ones being made there.

 

Thank you, you may very well be correct. The more I stare it, though, the more I think it might be local to Indiana. Reminds me somewhat of Zimmerman. It's not marked though.

If I had seen this without the suggestion that it could be a paperweight, think it would have looked more like a ring dish to me. But could serve just as well to hold paperclips.
