Dog brooch

    Hi! I found this brooch in a bag of cheap lapel pins:

    As you can see, it’s marked Kenart, made in England, and has a patent number that I understand dates it to 1953. So, not an antique, but firmly in vintage territory.

    Now, would you agree that the dog is a longhaired chihuahua? That’s what it looks like to me, but someone else thinks it’s a pekingese.

    Also, what type of metal is this brooch made from? Pewter? I’m not familiar with this Kenart company but it seems their animal brooches are quite collectible...

    That tiny face, pointy nose & bushy tail were my clues. They always look like they are stuck in the late 1980s & 1990s with their "big hair". ;) :playful::playful: :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    My Dad had an original 78rpm copy, but it just got lost over the years. I've never forgotten the tune though.
