I just wanted to share with you this massive emerald cut glass vase. I am not keeping it because it hurt my wrist to even lift it. No kidding it weighs over 17 pounds and the glass is about a half of an inch thick. But this green is really something don't you agree?

Yeah it is almost impractical. Imagine pickup 2 gallons of milk at once and holding it under the tap to wash it. I have saw them at ten pounds or so but not 17. 17 pounds of beautiful though!!

It's a nice example... The glass type is often referred to as "Flashed glass." A fine soft coloured molten enamel coating is deposited on the clear or coloured glass which is easy to etch with sand or acid. Areas where the enamel has been removed can also be coloured with silver-stain, wheel-cutting and felt-wheel polishing.

Stourbridge wasn't/isn't the only area of England where glass was/is produced.
