Hi. Can anyone identify this peice? It was in my basement that flooded. It is solid wood. My insurance company tossed it. The legs were similar to ball in claw except more square I feel like. The handels were also wood and it had a small shell like design on it. Thanks so much.

 

hi Tannette, It looks to be a dressing table (without its mirror) probably part of suite of bedroom furniture, with a matching bed-side tables and wardrobe etc.

 

Do you have any idea what era it is from?

 

I would say mid 1930s - 1940s, but others may know for certain. People can't give them away for nothing here in England

That is a chippendale “style” keyhole desk. - appears to be oak, hard to tell from the photo.

It’s in rough shape- that veneer is water damaged really bad. The pulls have been replaced.

It looks to be a reproduction- which makes it a little tricky to date, but I would agree with ritzyvintage- between 1910-40. A makers mark would help.

it's nice...it was nice..but i doubt any more than $ 200 in todays market.

 

Agree that you should be able to find a reasonable replacement for a couple hundred.
