Bohemian liquor set - Anything special?

Any reason this liquor set sold so high?

Just picked up the exact set (missing one glass) for a pittance at the thrift. Figure it is worth a lot less than this. Am I wrong?

 

oh yer right...missing a glass should kill the value by at least 25 bucks...

unless you say there were only 5 to begin with......

 

That's silly money. It's ten to twenty pounds at most here.

 

sold a full set like it for £25, the gold leaf wasnt as abundant as in this one though

The one that sold is Italian from the 1950s. I had the exact set in red glass. It sold for 125 dollars at the peak in 1990.

Thanks for the input. Basically confirmed my thought about that result being an outlier. Even so, I am happy with my $3.00 purchase.
