I found this seemingly handpainted guitar in a storage unit i bought. No markings or labels but seems at least vintage(?) Can anyone give any insight on brand or value? 20180526_143010-640x480.jpg 20180526_143016-640x480.jpg

i likes it, would be a considered a parlour guitar

    definetly has some age

have a look inside the soundhole, for any markings

also at the back of the headstock(tuning part)

would depend on the maker and playability

on some old guitars, the string tension bends the neck over a long period

you can check by measuring the string height on the 12th fret

if it is high (big distance between strings and fretboard) then would need a neck reset(costly)

but would still be a nice ornamental piece

Hello Donaee. We don't do appraisals here. What we try out best to do is give you enough information, accurate descriptive terms, so you can search for other similar items & see what is being asked for them & what they are actually selling for. It's really the only way to gauge current value.

Pretty! I know nothing about guitars, but my first thought was that it belonged to a "flower child." :)

How big is it? Could it be a ukulele? Some of them are decorated.

Someone's done some work on the guitar; those phillips head screws are post-WWII. Pretty thing, but it may just be a wall hanger if it's a parlor guitar.

This was a low-quality instrument even when new, and has gone down in value since then....there is a missing fret, so even if the neck is not warped, you are looking at some luthier work to get it playable. Likely around 1940-ish, a small guitar; not really a parlor guitar, just an older guitar, and unlikely to be by any well-known maker - not one I recognize, anyhow. Older guitars are smaller than newer ones, in general. Many of these were made with plywood, rather than solid wood, and if so, it has minimal value.
The top is not spruce, and the tuning machines are quite low in quality; all indicators that this is not a high-quality instrument.
I'd hang it on the wall, or try to resell as-is.

It’s condition will certainly devalue it by quite a bit.
Go to www.thegearpage.com and ask the question there, they will rip you apart and value it at the same time. You might even get a buyer.

Better link: www.thegearpage.net but they seem heavily slanted toward electric guitars, and as mentioned, will probably not have a high opinion of this guitar.
