Porcelain Low Bowl

I suspect a modern Asian maybe but wanted to check other opinions.

I was wondering what’s the idea behind the inside pattern. Probably they did not mean to depict bacteria but it surely looks like.

 

Kard, I don't know anything about your bowl, but the bacteria thing is EXACTLY what I thought when you first posted it.... I just thought "Ewwww..." - and boy, I wouldn't want to serve anything edible in that!

 

I think it was meant to be used as as a flower bowl or so. Chinese has similar pieces for brush washing. There is hard water residue on the interior.

 

I think the bacteria look is kinda cute

 

Interesting float bowl for floating flowers. Those brown things in the bottom look like the tree stuff that is all over my back deck. It has been raining brown tree stuff all week. I think it would make the flowers look more natural, like they're in a pond.
