Art 101 -- do I call these "woodblock etchings"?

You think I would know this by now, but don't do so much resale of etchings, etc. This should be an easy one for someone.

When the image is impressed like this, does that mean "woodblock etching"? Thanks.

 

Woodblock prints are not etchings. Woodblocks don't generally leave plate impressions.

Would this be called a "hand colored" etching?

I don't know what kind of print this is. The plate mark suggests intaglio.

Woodcuts, woodblocks, wood engravings are all relief prints and will not leave plate impressions. I don't know if there's any such thing as a wood etching; wood does not lend itself to being etched.

It's a multiple with a fairly low print run, so I doubt it's a photomechanical process. The set-up would be prohibitively expensive.

It could be a hand colored etching. I think that's most likely.

It's possible that it's an etching with wood block coloring. Getting the lines and colors correctly registered (aligned) would be tricky, but it has been done.

I think this artist is still active. You may be able to contact her and ask.

A very quick search of the name suggests that print making is not her favorite way to go.
