Royal Satsuma. Are these of good quality?

It depends on your definition I guess, 'Royal Satsuma' is not authentic Satsuma, it dates post war and is often made in China. But much of it is hand made and hand painted, so on a nicely done piece you get a lot of work for your money as prices are low. They tend to be around 1/10th the price or less of an equivalent Japanese original and there is no denying some of them look good.

Perhaps a good way of looking at it is like a diamond ring - you can have a diamond ring for £1000 or the same ring with a CZ for £100 - nearly everyone who sees it won't know either way. So it's whether you care or not.

Ah ok. I was wondering how the Royal Satsuma mark would affect things.
