    Are y ou sure it's not Syroco? It's similar to papier mache, but sturdier and a lot of stuff was made from it in the 30s & 40s. I have molded cigarette boxes, ashtrays, glove boxes, etc. that were my mothers

    If you look at the picture with the tail joint, it appears to be a composite wood or so. On the last picture with the ears you can see the layers of applied paper. So, not sure, could be mixed media.
