Tea table? Help ID

I found the cutest little item I believe is a tea table. It’s unique shape and brass side handles are just too adorable. The bottom has a maker mark which is partially missing and unreadable.

Can anyone help me determine approximate age? The seller advised she bought it a long time ago from an estate sale (eye roll)

I’m also curious if anyone recognizes the maker mark and can provide more information about the manufacturer.

Thank you! (For both the info and the welcome note) I see myself becoming a regular on the forum. We just moved back to the US and I’m have so much fun discovering and acquiring new old stuff. I feel like I’m rescuing them from a sad life covered in chalk paint

CF0695C4-73D5-4A15-BA9A-489A4973FF79.jpeg squeeee!!!! I finally had time to work on this little sweetie tonight. Got her all sanded down and ready for stain. Gave her a mineral spirit rub down and look at what I find!!! OMG! I’ve decided to skip applying any stain and just finish with Tung oil to keep this gorgeous grain on display.

Beautiful. Never any need to stain good mahogany.

Yeah, agrees. I had the same experience with an english 18th century table a couple years ago, it was built with Pear wood. I left it as it was meant to be with a clear finish, sometimes less is more, particularly when dealing with nicely figured woods.

I absolutely agree! The top was so dry and faded it looked like it has been sitting in the sun. I was so excited to see some life in the wood!

Oh yes! I love the movement and richness of natural wood! (And I’m only a little jealous you found a beautiful old Pear table! Lol)

LOL, Yes, i hear you! It was from the Barbara Johnson estate (you know, the Johnson & Johnson Band Aid people). It was SUPPOSED to be American but alas, as soon as it arrived i realized it was english! But, it was a period william & mary Pear wood table and refinished wonderfully so all wasn't lost.

Hard to see the figure in wood with photo's as pear is a very pale/pinkish colored wood but, in person it's quite striking.

Oh, what a beautiful table! I bet you were elated when you discovered their mistake in origin and period!

Actually, no. I only collect old AMERICAN furniture & have this horrible chauvinism towards american only. I have softened a bit over the years but still, if it ain't american, it ain't happening!
