Hello guys, could really use your help with this one.
bought from an estate of a German antiques dealer.
a scene of a bearded male figure holding a sword on one side and kneeling begging (lady?) figure along with an angel and a goat(?) head.
two dogs, one one the lid and one between the figures.
    apx 19cm tall.

    ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRICIATED!
    THANKS :)

At least to me it "almost" has an "end of the day" feel.

I'm trying to figure out what the spout represents? Animal, person?

I thought it was a dog.
One on top looks like a sheep.

    Wolf in sheep's clothing.
    How old is that tale?

    Welcome to the forum, smadgos.
A stunning piece, definitely Continental European. The style looks German to me, possibly Rhineland. A guess is 17th-18th century.
The kneeling lady is either praying or begging to be saved from the man with the sword. The angel will protect her, or at least has been protecting her for the last couple of centuries.
I don't think we have anyone on the forum who knows enough about German clay types and glaze history to determine the exact origin and age. So I think the best thing is to contact the Keramikmuseum Westerwald in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany. They know about ceramics other than Westerwald as well.
This is their email address: kontakt@keramikmuseum.de
Will you let us know what they say?

Pleasure smadgos. Good luck, and hope you get a perfect identification. Keep us posted.:)

I just added something to my last post about the kneeling figure. But I don't have the full story.;)

Promised to keep you updated so...
The scene is the BINDING OF ISAAC, most likely a 17thC German folk art.
That is the answer from the Hetjens Museum in Düsseldorf.
they want to examine it in person one day when i get there.
Thank you all for the GREAT info!

Wonderful, smadgos, very good news. Thank you for the update.
I can see the story now, Isaac, Abraham, even the ram in the tree. Well, next to it, but who cares.

Do you have the opportunity to go to Düsseldorf, are you in Germany? Very nice city, I worked there for a while, in a gallery on the Kö.
If you have more news, please share it again, we always love follow ups.
