The urn is 11x8 inches and weighs 5.5 lbs Can someone let me know what language this is written, or any other info to continue my research? Thank you!

Thank you for the lead! Found marks very similar from Mengrai Kilns in Thailand (now the MK on the sticker makes sense!)

Welcome to the forum!!:happy: Beautiful vase. I love the color.

Where did you buy the vase? The reason I ask is that the 2 auction houses I frequent use the same type of sticker with similar lettering & numbering. It is their way of keeping track of who consigned which pieces. As each item is put up for bid the numbers on the stickers are called out to the clerk who then enters them into the computer along with an item description, the buyer's number & price bid.

You may not have bought it at an auction but whoever you bought it from might have & just not removed the sticker. I always get a chuckle when I am out at various venues & see one of the stickers on something.

In other words, that sticker might not have anything to do with the artist or the company that made the vase. The incised markings are your best bet to ID anything about this vase.

Welcome, Fl. It is a beauty, I love celadon and the Thai have a great tradition of making it.

True, it is a case of function over beauty, but the two can go together.
The shape and loops are based on those old Sukhothai and Sawankhalok storage vessels.

    Pretty piece. And Welcome FIThrifter!

P.S. Love your avatar --from the Zoom call where the lawyer turned on a cat filter, right? That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Jimmy Kimmel did a bit last night where he awarded a "Zoomie" award to the lawyer who had that happen to him.

I can't remember all of the other nominees but the upside-down guy was one of them.

Thank you for the welcome! I purchased it at Goodwill for $10. More than I wanted to, but I couldn't find any defects. And celadon is my favorite color!

Good point! I need to know how to look at items with a critical eye, so I appreciate your comment. But I still like it. ;)
