Thoughts on a painting

I found this Friday at a thrift store. I think it's old; the framer's label says - in part - old police - what is that?
Wondering what you guys think of it?

 

My opinion - the perspective is all wrong. 2/3 of this painting is unappealing sky with the 'subject matter' being stuffed into the lower 1/3.

 

Doesn't appeal to me for the same reason wiscbirddog expressed. But I know nothing of value. To me art is an appealing emotion. Value doesn't enter into it.

 

Policia Vieja is part of the location.

 

I don't see it as even close to "old."

Well, the gallery is still in business. You can ask if they have any information about your painting. Their telephone number has changed so they should be able to at least date your work by the label. And perhaps they can direct you on to the individual who has their artist's catalogue raisonné.
