Purple Pressed? Glass Footed Covered Candy Dish - Age?

From the reseller's treasures comes this dark purple, round, footed covered candy dish with a deeply pressed design. It is short and squat at 7 3/4 inches high and 5 inches in diameter at its widest point. I have hopes it is an older piece, because it is heavy at 2 lb and 3 oz. It only has two patterns which are repeated on the top and the bottom. There is a seam that runs on both halves and tiny dots at the edge of the bottom and matching ones under the lid. No marks that I can see. Any thoughts or comments will be appreciated.
