I bought these for $5 at an auction intending to resell the shades. But, I thought I should check out the candlesticks before separating them.

Anyone know what they are? The glass in the base is full of large bubbles.

I think the candlesticks might be EAPG @TallCakes

I do not think the shades are original to the candlesticks. They look later.

Flint glass is a possibility. The candlestick pictured isn't the one but the other has a ring of what looks like black grit on the surface. I think I've seen that before in flint glass.

After googling Baccarat candlestick and seeing some of the French pieces.

It appears that maybe the shades do indeed go with the candlesticks.
I wouldn't split them until you know exactly what you have.

Does Baccarat have a way to contact them and ask if they can identify them as theirs?

The shape is similar but the glass in the candlesticks isn't crystal or Baccarat quality. The molded shape is soft and the glass has too many bubbles. There's also the ring of grit that's probably ash from the molding process. These shades are much newer and better quality than the candlesticks too.

I'm pretty doubtful that the sticks are Baccarat, but I am going to wait and try to get more info on them before I do anything.

I've made a note to look at my books tomorrow while I'm at the store.

I just have to remember to read my note.;)

I was at the store yesterday and looked through my books. I was really hoping to find this, but sorry to say I couldn't find anything.

The base looks somewhat similar to Portieux Vallerysthal candlesticks. My understanding was that those molds were sold to Chinese companies. Perhaps a copy with a simplified top?
