Jade 4" Bar Pin, Era? Odd closure?

I inherited this long ago. It has been in a safe for years. Can anyone date the piece? Is that closure found in any particular era, it s a saftey clasp to hold the bar in place. No marks at all. Took it to a jeweler with a spectrometer, 14k & stone is jade. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Agree, that lever safety clasp is after ca 1900. That colour jade was higly popular in the Art Deco era, but also used before then.

 

Could also be a ladies collar pin from that time.

that would be really long for a collar pin...

 

When I consider it more closely, 4 inches is really long for a bar pin no matter how it was used. One I have is 2.5 & another is 3 inches. In some cursory searching, found 2 for sale, described as tie pins, each 56 mm, even shorter (& not necessarily correctly described.)

I know women wore some whopping big cameos at the throat; must have forced them to keep their head up.
