Large signed pedestal bowl..but who made it?

    Spent several fruitless hours trying to work out who made this, or even which country it is from. Large bowl, 14" rim diameter, mottled glass overpainted.

    Any help gratefully received!

    Gawd, I thought that was a squiggle! My gut feel is Italian, but don't ask me why.

    My signature is almost as bad :(

    I thought either Italian or Bohemian....or French...or...... :)

    That foot is fairly typical of modernish Italian. So is the shape and that rather florid gilding. I rather like it.

    The signature may be the decorator not the glass maker.

    I think you are right.

    Pretty certain that maker is a Florence company known as Gipar, from owner Giampiero Parentini.
