I hope you all are doing well.

Picked these up a while ago. The sigs look like V. Nieuwenhuyle & Petri to me. Seems to be the illusion of movement from the cypress tree leaves in the one. Wondering what you folks think about them. The feedback is always informative and appreciated.

    Thanks!

Dude, perhaps the "V" stands for "Van" and the name is Van Nieuwenhuyse?

Good thought. If so, what a peculiar "s" in the sig! Maybe Jean Van Nieuwenhuyse? https://www.proantic.com/en/display.php?id=608224. Not seeing the same style in mine, though.

Very odd reflection on the Petri one. Yellow trees are showing a green reflection, either artist not paying attention or a made up scene.

    Robert Walker Love to learn...

Hi All, Van Niewenhuyse is a Dutch name. (This is old spelling, though. Modern would be Van Nieuwenhuizen. So possible a Dutch Artist. The V in this case is def 'van'. 'Nieuwehuyse' translated, nieuw= New, huyse/Huizen= is Home, or Homes, its actually plural. The name Niewenhuyse would very (almost, def.) likely be in combination with 'van'. So, either an (orginally) Dutch or Flemish name. If the painter has ever had an 'official' expo, you should be able the find him/her on www.rkd.nl
