Brass Finial ?

    Trying to figure what this nice finial is off of ? Size is 7" tall, 5" wide and it weighs 3.5 lbs. The only marking is 'DN 588' on the bottom, and it's threaded for mounting. My thought was andiron or end post railing finial. s-l1600 (94).jpg s-l1600 (96).jpg s-l1600 (97).jpg

    With a thread on it that large perhaps it’s part of a brass bed.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Those would be some SERIOUS BRASS POSTS ON A BRASS BED, if’s you ask me.......

    Maybe an entry way post into a driveway, just a possibility.....I’m sure one of many!!!! BUT if it was, it never saw much weather, IMHO!
