hi there guys. I’m clearing out my late fathers house and came across this in a dark corner. Never knew him to collect anything like this so was hoping you could give me an idea of what it is and who it’s made by.

Its best if you put pictures within your post.
Size, weight and pictures of the base will help people ID it for you.
    Keep your pics below 1mb

Okay I’ll grab some more! I’m on my phone so uploading pics was a bit of a pain that was the only way I could do it.

    As for weight 3-5kg
Size maybe foot and a half to two ft
As for the base there are no stamps or markings

Welcome, Thatguy. Is it possible it's something he inherited, never liked but couldn't get rid of?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Also, if you could show the underside that would help some people. I know daveydempsey already mentioned showing the base, and that is what he meant... what is beneath the bottom of it.

I lightened it a bit. Looks like Capodimonte (if it's porcelain).

Put it on a plain background. White tablecloth, sheet, posterboard.

Close up of the faces, picture of the base, side shot straignt on (not angled).

Need to see the bottom for a makers mark. Looks Austrian/German circa 1890 but will need to see the marks if any first.

Okay picture taking tips will be followed sorry for the issues. I’ll get much better pictures up later today! Including base, bowl and sides.

Forgot to mention the bowl can detach. I’ll put a new post bellow with correct weights and measurements up along with all the photos later! Thanks so much everyone!

Please be CAREFUL handling this and turning over for photos. Those wings and flowers are very fragile. ;)

I have a pair of candlesrticks that could easily be "goes-with". They are clearly marked Carl Thieme, and Rontgen dates the mark 1961 and later. But I wouldn't rely on that to ID this compote. It's a style, and who knows how many companies produced similar.

If it's 2 feet tall it's way too large for a compote. Epergne maybe and possibly even a plant stand if you don't have children, dogs or clumsy big people around.
