Mexico Sterling & Rhinestone Bracelet makers mark help

    I know it's has a broken catch. looks like male is broken inside the female. No worries it was free. Also it says 925 but it is gold
    Anyway i was just wondering about the mark if anyone might be able to help.

    Maybe it's gold plating over the silver?

    Ley is "law" in Spanish, never seen that in a mark before.

    In Spain, 'Plata de ley' indicates the silver is up to the legal 1st standard (.925 since 1988), 'Plata de segundo' indicates 2nd standard (.800 since 1988)...

    I've seen ley on Spanish pieces. As Cheryl says, it's the official term.
