I am trying to figure out what this TV does - or more to the point, what the Lens and Shroud over the CRT do. I have had it in storage for the last 1/2 decade - someone gave it to me. I had always figured it was a projection device of some sort, but now I wonder if that is true. I can't find another example of something like this, and think it may be because I don't know what to call it. Anyone seen one like this and know what it is? Thanks! Dave
p.s. I should have gotten a photo of the main label on the back, below the service label you see. I will look next time I am there.

I'd say home made also. Looks like a lens type setup that those old magic lantern units used. Does it actually work? Any markings on the lens itself?

I haven't seen any markings, but I need to move it to a better location and do a more thorough check.

It might pull the image, from what is televised & project it to a wall??.

Perhaps made to accommodate an extremely nearsighted person? The arrangement does look a bit like some projection setup but I don’t think there’s enough light (lumens) available from a standard tv to make a useful projector. Interesting thing though. I suspect there’s a TV collector forum you should use.

I wonder if is some sort of light projector that hooks to a sound system ,kinda like in the discos of old.

That was informative, looking at their product lines. Projection TV would fit. We know it is some kind of TV because it has VHF and UHF tuning dials.
