Just acquired an oak chair circa 1910 give or take, it has a pressed back design with a US monogram. Any idea if this is a government chair, maybe military or would the US be for something other? Anyone seen a chair like this that can lead me in the right direction. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The scrolling design around the letters doesn't look very military at all or even all that formal for government. I wonder if it's not US but SU?

How about a University!!!!! Someone thankfully stripped some awful green paint off of it too!!!!:joyful::joyful::joyful: And WELCOME to the site!!!!! So, whilst I have your attention, the next time you post images, Most of us are happier when posting images, once LOADED, to click on the very TOP IMAGE, which says "POST EVERY IMAGE FULL SIZE"......Not to worry, you'll get the hang of it!!!! We all did!!!

Okay Thanks, all makes sense, University sounds about right and the S does overlap the U so we'll just let our imagination run wild!
