I found this item today and not sure what to make out of it.
Is this a college / school completion prize? Anyone familiar with this logo?
I think it is from 40's but some additional info would be nice.
    Any thoughts?

The engraving style on the back looks earlier than 40's to me. With the runner on the front, some kind of sports prize?

I found reference to them as early as 1921 at 32 N Broadway in Yonkers, but I haven't been able to find any sort of "end date".

My first thought was that this must be high school or college medal. Because N Traub appears to have been a jeweler/jewelry store, not a manufacturer, I was thinking that the school might well be somewhere in the metro NYC area - perhaps even tri-state (i.e. NY/NJ/CT.)

Further, the school name probably started with an "H", and the school colors would likely have been blue and white. The only school I came up with was HOTCHKISS (a boys' prep school, in CT) but there is no evidence that they ever used a background shield shaped like the one on this medal.

(Mind you, this is pure conjecture, start to finish, simply based on years of collecting school/college memorabilia...)

Generic school sports award, many were made by the large jewelry manufacturers in New England area and supplied to local jewelers for the engraving.

The style certainly looks 20s-30s to me.

O.J. Bell was an Irish American distance runner, he was running somewhere around 1912 timeframe. Here he is winning an amateur race in N.Y. I believe took place in 1912. There's multiple articles you can look up if you google "O.J. Bell" Irish American runner.
