Hello, I inherited these porcelain match holders, was told they were also used as match strikers. They are porcelain painted in pastels, feels bisque-like. I am trying to find a maker or region they came from and approximate age, any help is appreciated. They have no maker marks. I am leaning towards German perhaps. Thank you! Except for the boy in pink, they could also be called "spill holders."

They look typical of early post war Japanese pieces.

They could also be circa 1900 continental pieces - what the Japanese were imitating.

Thank you, with the research I have done, I believe this is what they are. The age is way before WWII, been in the family for a very long time.

I'd have thought late 19th German or Austrian with those faces.

Do you think the youth in pink is just a figurine?

Reason I ask is that I was told the boy figurine was a match striker, so I think her memory is that it was related maybe to the fireplace?
