My young lady thinks this is old chinese, I’m leaning towards an out door planter from the 80’s. Can someone settle the debate. Inside is a small molten pile of thick copper wire as if it was put into a fire pit to melt the cooper down, but failed. It seemily is now attached to the bottom. This could account for the damaged legs. Approx 5.5” tall
Thanks for the bird lead, you’re spot on. Thinking more chinese, just not sure If authentic. Many thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. http://usa.bjreview.com/Arts/201604/t20160405_800053728.html
Just wondering is there a wager involved? Last time the Forum was asked to resolve something like this, I think there was a Dinner involved....
you & your young lady seem to be headed in the right direction..... good luck finding it's age.....that's above my pay grade !!!
She’s feeling lucky, I’m holding out with replica. Can’t wrap my head around some knuckle head trying to melt wire in a relic.
Geez, my first thought was Mayan, Aztec, Incan design rather than Chinese. I know next to nothing about this stuff. Does look “weathered.” I’m thinking more of a decorator piece BWDIK?
