Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    I love the Nouveau glasses, @johnnycb09 ! Is that a maker's name?

Johnny, those are so cute - perfect for Easter or a spring luncheon! I like them lots better than the usual "painted tulip" glasses.

Does that label on the blue one say anything other than "Nouveau"?

Its just a remnant, not much else. If I remember correctly, some thought they were Japanese, possibly from the 1960s.Its one of those collections that just sort of happen ! Ive got 10,not 9 as Id thought! My sideboard and huge shelf above it are a tad cluttered!

I went hunting today in the too-darned-heat and came home with a pile of clothes. A local charity thrift is closing down and most stuff was a dollar. A woman I know who runs a local consignment place came in after me and I handed her a bunch of vintage that was too cool to pass up but nothing I wanted to deal with. I picked up two shirts for myself (everything left was too big or too small) but friends made out like bandits.

I even saw an urn on the Roadshow once - the American one. Some GI packed it home as a souvenir. It had been in a French house during a firefight and the urn took a bullet meant for the soldier. His grandkids just wished he'd taken the undamaged one home too.

    The moving wasn't that easy...
The house was build on a hill...(yes in Flanders!!) with a drive way climbing more then 10 degrees over something like 30 m, and not able to drive to the top.
    And then the stairs....

Won't be doing much today! ;-)

    @kristiaan - That is a gorgeous piano!! :happy::happy:

Do you play the piano? The auction house gets pianos & organs fairly frequently. Once in a while a baby grand that might sell for several hundred, but never anywhere near what they were originally or what they are even worth.:eek:

    kyratango Bug jewellery addiction!

:woot:Haha, Davey will ask how much you have been paid to move it;)
Here in France nobody wants them unless it is a Steinway:(

It is a crying shame when you see a quality baby grand piano at auction sell for a few quid!

Yes, don't expect to get much from it, it is what it is.
I had the house to clear and the piano was part of the deal.
And no, I don't play piano, and do not intend to start it.
Just love the shape, it always ads something to a interior, even if not played...

I used to play, many years ago. If I had that in my house I have at least two friends who would be clamoring to move in and share rent.(LOL) Baby grands attract musicians.

Seeing the steps reminds me of a Laurel and Hardy film of them delivering a piano up some steps. Does anyone else remember the film?
