Featured Fabulous Reticulated Plate

    This plate turned up in a mixed lot yesterday.

    it is extremely well done with blue jewelled dots and elaborate gilding and a simple hand painted cherub. Sadly the only mark is a red B over 8. It has to be a top maker and I would date it to c1865 but who made it and why no mark? The only flaw is that there are a few of the blue jewel like dots that the decorated has missed the central white dot on .

    It could be English or Continental

    Any thoughts?

    I suspect German. I tend to think of those cherub styles as being from there.
