Capodimonte figurine

Hello I'm looking for some advice. I've been left this fugure by a relative but I can't seem to find any information regarding the date it was made or where it is from or value online. I'm really in the dark about this kind of thing

please show us photo's instead of links.....

I found what I think is similar to yours that sold. They say it's a Nico Venzo piece and yours does seem to be signed. What does your signature say? Any info on the hang tag?

Here is the listing on Worthpoint though I don't have an account there so can't see the sold price.

I see Nico Venzo. He was born in 1938, so....

Would anyone know Where's best to take a piece like this to find out more about it?

San Martino......??

or

A masterpiece of ceramic art, this fine porcelain Capodimonte figurine The Cobbler by Nico Venzo tells the story of cobbler, sitting repairing bootsand shoes, with his leather, last and tools to hand. The art of modelling in porcelain with such exquisite detail has existed in Italy since the early part of the 18 th Century and is still being continued by the Capodimonte masters. Each piece is different in some way from others of the same design and the hand-finishing is such that each is an original work of art. True to the Capodimonte tradition, this hand-made collectable piece is highly coloured with a strong relief style. It is s igned by the artist, and bears the Capodimonte N mark of authenticity on the lower edge.

Unless you're only interested in what it sells for...........
if so.....just search the web...

Here is a link to a gentleman's site who was an expert in Italian pottery and his explanation on the history of "Capodimonte". Also a link the webpage of Nico Venzo with his biography.

Neither gives a date but from the time Venzo has been working it would seem to be fourth quarter of the 20th C or more recent. Just a guess.

Also another similar piece that sold if you're wanting a value. If you don't have an account you may be able to get a free trial or someone here that has an account there may be kind enough to look.

Thank you, that is the closest comparison I've seen expect that one looks more of a.mass produced replica. As it doesn't have the crown marking on the base and seems to have a different design on the base.

I will be honest I am only trying to establish if it is worth selling as it has no sentimental value too me.

for the first one linked by sayitslow on worthpoint reports that sale as: $63 April 5, 2014, on ebay UK.

the second one linked to worthpt listed as $80, 2019
