Antique Cloisonné Bowl

I am trying to determine whether this bowl is Chinese or Japanese and how old it is. I have done some research, which has still left me confused. This was originally my grandmother's, who was very interested in the Japanese culture. After reading the information on a website referred to me from another posting on this site I am still confused, but leaning toward Chinese. You are right, it is a Chinese one. Difficult to date, looks like it has had quite a hard life. I suspect it is most likely early 20th century, perhaps a little earlier.
