Featured Japanese ? little dish

One of today’s little finds.
Please can you tell me about this dish? Japanese?
Approx 6cm across, is it modern or has some age?. Chipped so just for my education.
Lovely little blue and white decoration around the edge.

Don't know anything about it, but it looks much more interesting than the Japanese ceramics we usually see.

 

Lol, that’s exactly why I picked it up but ‘it looks interesting’ is about as far as my knowledge goes!

 

Hmm, the symbol in the center looks to be 'shou' longevity in Chinese. If the base mark is 今 it is written more in the Japanese style (it is showing the Chinese form in the text I'm writing). 今 can be a name in Japanese, also in Chinese but much less common. Due to historical animosity most hybrid items made in China are well into the capitalist period, late 80's onwards.

Sure is an odd one. It looks older than the 80's, I can't put my finger on it.

 

I’m hopeless at deciding if something is Chinese or Japanese.
It does look older than 1980s but I suppose that is 40 years ago, whereas I consider it as nearly yesterday!
It certainly looks like the Shou symbol- Thankyou
