I have recently purchased a pair of small vases with some damage. I don't recognise the mark. It also has an impressed M and 3 numbers. Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome Guy. I think your vases are what is called "hobbyist",the painting is just too sloppy to be from a factory of any renown.

Thanks Johnny , I agree 100% and that was my initial thought, but the actual vase seems to be too professional to come from a hobbyist and the images are raised around the edges, as if was edged and then painted. Once again not a DIY thing I would imagine. I have to be honest.... i don't actually like them because of the painting, but found them intriguing. Thanks
