Featured Do you think this is a vintage piece or an antique ?

Hello to all my friends online, tonight. I have another piece of furniture I need to sell and I need your help in dating, country of origin and worth. I really love this cabinet, as it looks good in my bedroom and holds a lot of stuff, but my bedroom has no wall that it works on without blocking the bathroom door, which I really don't think I could move this or scale it, in order to make it into the bathroom.
This cabinet is made in two parts...The top, which has the top 2 doors, is a separate piece that you can lift off. I was told years ago that this was called a top hat ? Then the bottom, which has two interior drawers which are only viewable if you open the bottom two doors. I hope you are able to see the pieces of Cloisonne ? My up close pics will have to be re-sized. As Always, THANK YOU !!!

 

I know the wood is very dry and I will need to work on that and also, clean it up. Should I polish the brass or not ?

 

I never polish brass. The wood looks old to me. I cannot see the individual panels well enough to guess about them.

 

It is gorgeous, Cyndie. It looks Chinese, but not your usual Chinese export.
I would say vintage, rather than antique.
I would love to see your pictures of the cloisonné. The panels have the same shape as Chinese handscreens/rigid fans.

 

Cant help but its gorgeous! Ive got the same mirror but in white! Im guessing 1950s-60s for age,but its just a guess.

 

Sorry, I was doing laundry and cleaning house and made you wait too long for only two pics of the cloisonne. One is too light and its difficult to see the brass wire in the picture, but the other one, is s little better...

You are so sharp! I knew they resembled something familiar but couldn't quite place the shapes!

 

I collect fans. I see fan shapes even if they are not there.

 

It is quite nice. Love that blue with the stain color.

I also prefer the natural patina on the brass. Gives the piece character.
