Featured Anyone know what this is?

I don’t know what this is. The beetle might be lapis, but I am not sure what the other stone is. I can’t find anything quite like it when I google it. Is it a pendant, or something else? Where is it from? Any help is appreciated.

 

Kind of looks like a cloisonne necklace...pretty!

 

First thoughts - sodalite for the blue and some kind of agate.

 

Have you checked the bail for marks?

 

If the bail is the round silver piece at the top (sorry I am a total noob) then no marks.

 

Ok, so I just looked up sodalite. I could not find a definite answer on weather it contains any pyrite. My blue does have a few flecks of pyrite.

 

Maybe a lapidary class/workshop piece of stone inlay or intarsia?

It almost looks like that stone used for ashtrays and candlesticks, the green translucent stuff with marbling, I want to call it green onyx or Alabaster but I’m likely wrong with the name of it.

yes, definitely inlay or intarsia, or a bit of both. I notice you can see the lines of where the stone has been cut when held up to the light. There is also a backing on it. The back is a solid piece of stone. I think it is too well made to be an amateur. There are no gaps between stone or silver.
