Someone might know the name of this pattern or the Maker !
I found it once on Replacements.com listed as unknown.
Memory is asking me if I put it up here early last year but I have no answer for Memory. 20170419_135532.jpg 20170419_135926.jpg

My memory is like yours, so I can sympathize! Did you search your posting history and go through all of entries to see if you've inquired last year?

Ah, yes, Memory..... Works best with photographs, it seems, not glass.

    Hi Tom,
I had water glasses with that etching.

I believe that is gray cut, not etched :)

    Hi Marie,
Sorry it is a gray cut. I am so shocked at the 350 dollars for a polyester baby blanket I was not thinking.

Well that makes perfect sense, it would shock me also and everything else would fly out of my head

However, if you look at catalogs of this type of ware from the manufacturers, they call it Needle etched.
Gray cut is the power of the internet.

This example, however, is wheel (gray) cut. If the surface is then polished it's not called gray.
In plate etching, the design is applied with a stencil of wax resist, the acid attacks the glass where there is no resist.
In Needle Etching, the piece is covered with resist, and the design is applied by a needle, driven by a mechanical device. The acid then attacks the glass where the needle removed the resist.

That's great to know ! Besides being interesting in and of itself, I've learned a few more search terms !
There are 11 of these, so I suspect there were 12 and possibly a punch bowl to go with them ! The glass is relatively delicate, so that would be very interesting so see.
