Hi all, hope someone can lead me in the right direction.
This heavy lamp burner marked M. B. N Y But I don't think they made the lamp?
Looks like painted glass with cast Iron base. and if it wasn't heavy enough it's weighted?
Stands 14" tall to top of burner. base is 9 1/4" tall.

They did manufacture lamps, but in this case, may have just made the font / burner assembly. be odd for them to do something with glass.

The maker is difficult to determine. I would classify it as a Vase lamp, circa 1890. The burner should pull out to reveal an oil container, and would have had a matching shade.

I was trying to find at least that base or something similar with no luck. I think they are Cranes?

It is extremely difficult to assign a manufacturer to the base...Many, many companies made the bases, and in fact, the maker of the base is probably different than the maker of the glass portion as well. I would guess somewhere around 1900. Glass is not in the greatest shape with lots of scratches and such. I would say that someone could probably sell it for $100 maybe, and that is mainly for the burner, and to a lesser degree the cast iron base. A person into restoration could do something with that.

Hello, is it possible that the burners were marked for the lamp type? Like this particular burner was made for the arctic that was electrified. arctic 3 a.jpg arctic 3 ab .jpg ? I did find one that is marked Arctic 3. Just curious.

$15 is pretty good. I have sold a number somewhat like that for anywhere from $70 and up. My bet is the base has a foundry maker shown underneath that base plate.

The only thing I found under the plate was the number 12
