Stone tool?

    I see these kinds of things around here in the Pacific Northwest US, and also fishing net weights and other such things.

    I've assumed that determining authenticity on something like this is all but impossible, but I wanted to ask the collective wisdom here for any thoughts.

    It's heavy, I'm guessing basalt, but otherwise have no ideas.
