IMG_0647.JPG This is a large ring that is almost 1 inch in length. It is marked 925, and is gold in color, so it should be gold plated sterling. The opals and sapphires are prong set, even though the sapphires are very tiny. The mystery is the F inside of the Diamond shape mark. I spent hours trying to track this mark down. One site said Fessenden & Co, but that was wrong. Does anyone know what this mark is? The only other stamp is a 9 on the other side. I appreciate any insights.

Designers don’t help us when they use diamond shapes in their logos :arghh:.
Every logo should have to pass the ‘Google Search Test’ using keywords.

The style is very contemporary, the kind of thing you see from the TV channel jewellers etc. Many of these come from India, so it may be worth searching Indiamart and places like that as it may be an own brand from one of the suppliers.

I too suspect it's a shopping channel one. Very nice. I buy those if I see them second hand: usually well made and it saves the stupid mark up!

Certainly an eyecatcher. The opals look like they could be Ethiopian, but that's a maybe.

@KikoBlueEyes At 1-inch long it will need a pianist with long fingers to show it off to perfection. Is it the irradiance that gives it away as opals rather than moonstone or something else?

I like it. For some reason, it reminds me of jewelry my grandmother had. But I am not a joolie so I defer to the experts.

You are so right! Or they should be made to register on a site that we all could use.

I didn't pay much for it, so I didn't expect some high end jeweler. I'm not surprised that it is a tv channel piece. I'll search Indiamart. Thank you very much.

I have very few rings, so I thought this would be nice for an occasional night on the town, as this looks like they may be on the horizon! Thank you.

Ethiopian. I'll have to check that out. It really have more fire than my photos show. Still working out the kinks of working with my new phone. Thank you.

You guessed it. I played piano for the vast majority of my childhood. Practiced for hours every day. I had the strongest fingers. This fits on my middle finger very nicely. The photos don't capture the irradiance well but the opals are very nice. Not what you usually see in an inexpensive ring. Thank you.

It's a bit more fussy than I usually buy, but I want to have a lot of options when I dude up even to the grocery store. Thank you.

Opals are notoriously difficult to photograph. An old Aussie tip, opals look their best between 12 AM and 2 PM.:)

I'll add that to my compendium of jewelry knowledge. :) The question is is it Australian time? I'm at Pacific Standard Time, so I should I set my alarm for 7 PM the day before?

Okay. So when I’m out late partying and maybe not so sober I see what flashes. :)

Only if your late partying extends to midday. Otherwise seeing flashes could be due to the late hour or the consumption of alcohol.:joyful:
