Hi again...I've had this piece since the 80's but have never been able to know exactly what it is. Very heavy with a thick base that shows wear. 9-10 inches high.
I do love the colours but not even sure how to describe ? tortoise . Thanks IMG_0541.JPG IMG_0544.JPG IMG_0545.JPG

It looks a lot like Mirano glass in the "splatter pattern" .. that's only a guess because I have a lovely big jar that looks like it ... Joy.

I think this is called tortoise glass . I suspect it was new when you bought it. I remember a lot of this stuff in the 80s.

    Correct.
And if I remember correctly, it was from Italy. But double check that.

Not tortoise, but tortoiseSHELL glass. Many companies made similar, including Mdina. That shape is more typical of Polish glass as is the clear handle. There was indeed a lot of this in the 80s - lots of faux costume jewellery, too.

This is a wonderful place and I thank you all for your kind help and direction. This was a garage sale find in the 80's ...but did appear to have well worn base at that time so may be a little earlier. Thanks again.
