Old textile faded colors

I need to know what,when, where, who etc. about this piece . Seems the original coloring has faded.

I've had these old market scene tapestry before (I tend to think of them as dresser scarves).

But... this one looks like chenille? I've not seen that before. I doubt there's a great deal of value, but since I'm not sure what I'm looking at, take that with a grain of salt.
