Is this by Fenton? If so, Mandarin or Venetian?
    Thanks

    Could it be Dugan-Diamond?

I'm with George, Northwood was my first thought, too.

I am not sure but seems like Northwood did not have the same shape. Fenton, Diamond and Vineland had low cupped bowls that look very similar but I am not finding anything in red. Maybe there are slight differences in the collar bases but it is hard to tell from the pictures online.

I did not spot an opaque "slaggy" red in a quick trip through Colors in Cambridge 1st ed. I am not familr with it in Diamond or Vineland either.

Is not it the slaggy red seen on the Fenton mandarin line?

You can check this completed listing on ebay. It has good photos and measurements. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Fen...784?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19f9165918

Whenever I see bowls like this, I always think either Fenton or Northwood because they made similar wares at that time. But I think this one is likely Fenton, Venetian Red, since it doesn't look too slaggy to me. It really doesn't matter too much. The lack of measurements is driving me wacky. This should be about 9 1/2" - 10", I hope.

Backing into Fenton agreement because Felt & S do not show Northwood making the candles in that listing.

It is about 2 3/4" tall and 9 1/2" wide. The foot is approx. 3 3/4" in diameter.

Shetlar has a good drawing comparison of this type of base with shoulder combination (3rd down on webpage). It usually helps to have a clear side profile to compare. From your measurements and pics showing a deep base depression it seems to possibly better match the Northwood version.

Whether it is Fenton or Northwood, the price is the same.
