What is this bottle?

    Just found this out and about yesterday.
    It's a pretty weighty glass bottle, lots of bubbles and waves in the glass and no markings on the bottom.
    It's approximately 13.5" tall by 3" wide.
    The stopper is cork with a metal topper and attached by metal chain.
    I'm so curious to what the purpose of this bad boy was and how old it might be?

    Welcome, Stacy. We aren't rudely ignoring you. Lack of replies usually indicates lack of good ideas on the subject. Members are all over the globe & sometimes members with specialty knowledge only pop in from time to time.

    My completely uninformed notion is an apothecary jar of some sort, not the usual shape, but...WDIK?

    with a cork like that...and an unrefined bottle.....i'd think condiment for home or resto..!
