Featured Can anyone help with the Origin of this small painting please?

    It's small, 7x 11. There appears to be no signature but there is some illegible writing on the back, which is also stamped with a previous owner's name. I am trying to determine if this piece is American, or English (from the Cornwall coast), Dutch or something else. It appears to be from the late 19th century. Any ideas? Thanks!     I like it as well. It isn't Dutch, we don't have rocks on or near the coast.

    Hmmmm. Thanks to both of you. I suppose the other options would be Breton or from Corwall, right?

    I wouldn't assume the stamped name was the owner. It could have been the framer or possibly a company that sold the painting.

    I'm guessing Breton.
