Thoughts on 'Diego's Dancers' Famous Painting - Signed Robertson

I found this at a local thrift store yesterday; it was priced at $79, but was 1/2 off day & I got it for $40.
It's large (I'm guessing about 48" x 36"?) & I think well done (I felt it to be sure it was a painting and not a print or print on canvas of Diego's famous painting).
My question is does anyone know of the artist; which Robertson?
Thoughts on the painting? Is there a market for copies? - If not I think it will go well in a room at Joy's House (a sober house for girls I opened in my daughter's memory).
As always I appreciate your help!

 

Don't know about the market for it but the painting is after Edgar Degas' "The Ballet Class" 1874. What would this be called, tribute art or just a reproduction? I'm ignorant in this field. Here is a site that specializes in reproductions with many by Degas.

Sorry to hear about your daughter but what a loving tribute to her.

It's a nice painting and while I don't know Robinson, I think it's a painting by Edgar Degas called the Ballet Class or Dance Class.

The girl in the left foreground does look like a senorita, I can see why 'Diego' came to mind. I doubt you could sell it for any more than you paid, & do you really want to have to ship it anywhere?

On the other hand, I think it would be lovely to see on the wall if you were trying to keep your thoughts on regaining a healthy body and getting some beauty back into your life.

 

A picture of the back always helps. Knee jerk is its a Chinese reproduction,but very well done.

I agree that it's a very well-done reproduction. If you decide to sell it, I'd stress the ballet theme in keywords. But I love the idea of it hung on the wall of the sober house.

Just wanted to add that the painting titled "The Ballet Class" has a dancer with her back to us in the foreground. The one titled "The Dance Class" has a dancer facing us in the foreground.

I think it would be a great addition to the Sober House.
