Is this genuine Meissen or a Dresden or copy

    Hello,

I found this in a car boot sale at first I thought it was genuine because of the richness of the gold colour and the white has a blue tinge , the makers mark is deep in the porcelain and looks hand drawn, edges of the base are finished uneven, finally the heat vent hole is hidden beneath the dress hem .

But on further investigation I found out because the eyes are blue it's either a copy or very rare indeed. It's 17cm high 10.5cm wide at base and just over 8cm deep.

A local auction house thinks it's Dresden . I'm confused . Any help greatly appreciated.

IMO it doesn't look like a Meissen mark to me, it looks like an imitation, not every crossed sword mark is from the Meissen factory, that doesn't mean that it is a modern reproduction necessarily as many porcelain factories used crossed sword marks with slight variations

Look more like arrows to me. Not seeing anything particularly promising in Rontgen, but Kalk porcelain in Eisenberg might be worth a look (Rontgen doesn't mention figurines).

Thanks for the replies guys . I had seen an identical piece on christies and they had it listed as Meissen . Rosberrys said it was probably a 20th century copy as the mark didn't look right . A local auction hose thought it was Dresden . I'm new to this so thank you for your help .
