Does anyone have any information on this artist. Seems as though he's completely unknown though victor waddington galleries have quite a reputation. Maybe didn't $_57 - 2021-07-07T142103.824.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-07T142047.453.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-07T142019.242.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-07T142009.169.jpg produce much work since he spent 2 years on this picture.

Hmm. I don't see a single one of those with a signature to compare to. Where do you see a signature, @laura9797

Upon further review - the signatures are off - your sig is all capitals unlike the ones I posted on LA. Sorry - I knew it was a long shot

Another long shot but it may be worth doing some research on Tony Gray the arts journalist and writer who would have been a young reporter on the Irish Times based in Dublin in 1944/45. He had attended the Dublin Metropolitan School of Arts, and I’d say it’s nailed on that he’d have known Victor Waddington from their participation in the Dublin arts scene. Not known as an artist but seems too much of a coincidence not to explore.

To the best of my knowledge, both Leslie and Theo Waddington are still alive and could be contacted to see if it rings any bells but it is also important to note that Victor Waddington also offered framing services and this piece might be someone who won’t appear on any search.

50:50 on that one, though it is quite a "good" artwork in my book
