Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I really have to laugh, as my Mom had acquired on Block Island a BRAND NEW, NEVER been used 3 HOLER outhouse "seat".....she had Dad put legs on it.....Mom had quite a collection of chamber pots.....and you can see where I'm going with this....my parents used to throw Barn Parties.....out came the 3-Holer and the chamber pots.....which got set in the holes with not dips (That would have been too bizarre even for my parents in the '60s!!!), but various chips and crackers and pretzels!!!!! They threw the BEST barn parties.....'course I was always 'put to work', not as much fun, but still fun!!!

Could as well call these, "Little Journies", with a wink to Hubbard's

Beautiful! My tiny abode doesn't have a basement, but if it did, I would like to think it would be at least half as nice as yours. Thanks again for giving us the tour.

@Shwikman and everybody else who's wondering about putting food into a bidet...Well, it's clear that this woman was warped and she enjoyed the looks on everyone's faces when she revealed the bidet's true purpose. On the other hand, I'm sure it's been well over a century since the bidet was used according to plan, so no real health issues here, just a demented sense of humor.

@Aquitaine yes, our two bidets are very similar. As you noted, the lid goes all the way down to the surface in which the porcelain is mounted. I didn't look for a mark, but I think as far as shape goes mine is slightly more of a "figure 8" shape. Anyway, the legs go up into the body of the piece instead of being attached at the bottom, as is usual. It's ROCK SOLID, no wiggle at all.

The floor was originally plain concrete. The only thing that was in the basement was a huge propeller fan under the stairs to circulate the air in the summer (before air conditioning). I think the tile was put down in the 1980s, far before our time but not original.

I always loved that black and white look for flooring. I wanted to do it in my kitchen, but it didn't work out.
In my house growing up, I think we had a propeller fan in the attic. I never knew the real name of it, but perhaps that was it. It was HUGE and the attic was as hot as could be in the summer. Even with the fan it was really impossible to be up there. And in the winter it as freezing.

My basement isn't finished and stairs are my enemies, so I'll just have to admire the effect and never even think about emulating it.

Gee even @Ghopper1924 's basement is neatly organized, not overly cluttered, with everything placed purposefully to great effect. Have we found an avid Antiquer with loads of self restraint? Or is there 2nd house next door with piles everywhere?

Love the comment, but I’m sure Ms. G would testify to my occasional impulse control problems, lack of a second house notwithstanding!
