Mystery obelisk

    Hi-- I just got this at auction. It measures 15" tall and 3.75" at the base. No markings of any kind. It seems like it's made of copper or copper-colored metal with glass insets that look like mercury glass. There's not was to access the glass to clean it. obelisk1.jpg obelisk2.jpg obelisk3.jpg

    Four sided mirror. Silver coating deteriorated.

    Most are relatively new decorative items and widely sold in stores such as Home Goods.

    I would estimate late 19th/20th century considering the deterioration of the silver backing. JMO. It may also be a repro., but cannot tell from the photos.

    Looks like a modern Chinese import to my eye.
