muscateer? bust id

    He doesn't look like a musketeer to me. Musketeers were employed in an army and would have had some kind of uniform or at least an emblem somewhere on their clothing.
    Maybe an Italian shepherd or peasant?

    Not far off then, has the hat and hair of the musketeer and is wearing a cape. Maybe a brigand or highwayman? I'm thinking its a early 20th century fairing probably

    Doesn't look like a musketeer to me, either. And I don't get any swashbuckling vibe, just something more pastoral.

    That was my first thought, too.

    A bust about 5 times larger than a chess piece. He's certainly hand made and not moulded, makes me think it could be an older piece
